I’ve absolutely always loved to write.
Whether it was building fictional worlds piece by piece, backed with an absolutely compelling narrative through creative writing, or creating the foundations of an English essay from scratch.
I’ve always loved to express myself with words and storytelling.
So journalism came naturally as an initial step towards making a career out of what I enjoy doing.
Of course I’ve still got a long way to go.
There are so many more skills I have to learn to become an actual journalist, to become a professional within the field.
I believe my first and foremost challenge that I’ve had transitioning from high school into the first semester of journalism studies is definitely being thrown off the deep end.
I’m an introvert at heart.
Talking to new people isn’t something that comes naturally to me.
I’d rather sit alone in a room doing my own thing than be somewhere public getting to know people I’ve never met before.
But with all challenges it can be overcome, with time and determination.
